Lithuania, a country in Eastern Europe. It is easy to fall in love with Lithuania and we will tell you why. Before we start, Lithuanians are very proud of their nation and they love basketball for example. A famous basketball player from Lithuania is the 27-year-old Jonas Valančiūnas. Lithuanians are also proud of their freedom because they were part of the Soviet Union for almost 50 years. During your stay in Lithuania do not forget to drink some local beers, because they have a huge diversity of beers.


Cepelinai, Varškės apkepas, Bulviniai blynai and Grybukai are recognized Lithuanian foods. Cepelinai is a dish with dumplings in the shape of a Zeppelin. The dumplings, made from potatoes, are filled with meat, mushrooms or cheese. Varškės apkepas are fried curd cheese cakes, which look delicious. These are often served with some fresh berries. Bulviniai blynai are Lithuanian pancakes made of potatoes. You can find this dish at a lot of restaurants and they are various to each other.  Grybukai is a glazed cookie, in the shape of a mushroom. It is kinda odd when you think about it, but it actually is tasty and looks super cute.

Lithuania has around 3 million inhabitants. The capital of Lithuania is Vilnius and is the largest city of Lithuania. There are no mountains in Lithuania, but their nature is so pure you have to take a walk in one of the forests. The forests in Lithuania cover 33% of the territory. Culturally, Lithuania has some traditional values and norms, such as no whistling inside the house. They do not want people doing this because they believe it calls upon evil spirits. Besides this, they always give salt or black bread when visiting someone, as they believe it brings good luck.
